This was my intro to rock n roll music.. A C90 cassette tape with Vertical Smiles on one side and Keeper of the Seven Keys on the other.. So the album was a few years old! Still got my vinyl copy that i HAD to have!!

I like both the Nazareth and the Blackfoot versions equally - they both have that difference in their style of drive to such a brilliant song, which was originally written by Canadian songwriter Bonnie Dobson, back in 1969.

This album feels much more better now then in '84 when pop hit southern. I was not ready for it then.

Blackfoot and Molly Hatchet in the 70's were great live bands. They loved when it the crowd started to really gel with them which was from the first song.

To quote the black guy from Terminator when he saw Schwarzenegger walking down the hallway, "God damn!"

The 1980s were not kind to people who were not in the loop at the time. It was a party for the ten percent, and it had lasting repercussions not only on the middle working class at the time but also on many people in the future. I have a feeling Blackfoot, which was always a legit band, saw the way things were going for their kind during this time.
