You could say that her vocal ability isn’t impressive/outstanding. She doesn’t do runs, high notes, melismas... all those things people like. There are so many other artists that don’t play a lot with their voices but she’s the only one that gets the criticism. I think it’s about time people start redefining what a singer is.
No one can emote like her. Whenever she sings, she tells you a story and that’s worth so much more to me.

The way she breathed in the first second got me how terrified and happy that she’s letting it all out. It felt like it was a huge burden on her back. The demo is more raw and honestly I love it more than the original final draft of the song.
