i know it is trivial out of everything he's ever done, but something about the fact that sh*ne tried outing dan and phil YEARS before they were ready when he himself knew what it was like being in the public eye and also being closeted just really doesn't sit well with me. also when he basically went "uwu maybe 9/11 was fake lol" and just moved on. that one also doesnt sit right

The whole thing doesn't even make sense in itself, since when "The Event" happened, nobody was prepared for it or took it lightly. It makes more sense to argue that all the war movies that exist primed the public to be willing to go to war at any given time.

i've been waiting SO LONG for this to get called out. the only other person was bobby burns, and shane destroyed his career.
the comments in his theory videos are very worrying, especially the flat earth conspiracy video. kids legit thanking shane for waking them up. i think that's one of the incidents bobby brought up but i can't 100% remember.
shane's conspiracy theories are misinformed at best. debunking them should have been shane's goal in those videos.

I think my comment may have been automatically deleted because it was assumed I was promoting ideas I was actually against. Basically, Shane has a history of getting his conspiracy theories from dangerous sources that promote dangerous ideas except he’d use more dog whistles within his own content. Dangerous for anyone who looked further into the topics he promoted. There’s a particular example that comes to mind but I don’t think I’ll be allowed to describe it in the YouTube comment section.
He also made multiple “conspiracy theory” videos apparently trying to out Dan and Phil, which he’d conclude by accusing them of qu*erbaiting (they’ve both since come out). So there’s that..

I'm so glad people are talking about this now. When I was a teenager I used to be a fan of Shane's conspiracy videos and, even though I didn't realise it at the time, it definitely affected my thinking and I went down a bit of a rabbit hole, which I only escaped after I stopped watching his content. It gave me such a warped view of the world that wasn't based in reality at all, and like you said, I'm certain that if I didn't get out of that mindset I would've gone down a much darker path
