My favorite part is how Stephen acknowledges the fact that picking up all those stitches can be tricky and says "that's ok!" you can sneak in a stich or skip one and everything will turn out ok! As someone who is still learning it's wonderful to see a well respected designer (who is undoubtedly highly skilled) be like hey knitting is weird sometimes. You're doing great. We'll make it work.

I have never knit before, well not successfully anyway lol. I have tried a few times. No more than a few rows of stockinette, I was either hating the piece or hating knitting itself. But I am absolutely flying through this thing and it’s looking amazing!! My yarn choices mean I have to look ahead to see which row to work next. Seeing the finished thing now, I’m so excited to see how mine turns out!! I’m using four different Garnmanufaktur cakes. Jojo, Remerino, Rebobbel and Creativo. All in green to blue colourways.

Bravo, SW!! This is going to be yet another shawl where I tell people, “I’m not that clever, I’m just lucky enough to have excellent tutorials from a genius designer to follow.” I love this, I love clue 4 - although I may be singing another tune with 900+ stitches on the needles - and although it wasn’t intentional, I love how this year has created so many unique and beautiful designs. Well done.

The best part of this video (besides the gorgeous shawl of course) has to be the end when you said there would be another MKAL next year. Best news ever 💕Take care dear Stephen! 🥰

I love your teaching style, it’s so lovely to know that if I don’t have the right number of stitches I can fudge and fix on the next row!❤ and I love the dip stitch! I just started clue 2 so I won’t finish with everyone else, but I will definitely finish. I’m using some of my precious hand spun.

Stephen! You exceed our expectations every year! What a year this was for our MKAL. I refer to it as ours because we all came together to support our wonderful yarn family. You are truly amazing and I have the deepest respect for who you are as a genius knitter and caring, loving person. This year’s shawl is amazing! I am on my fourth version and have enjoyed every stitch. Can’t wait for next year but there will be a lot of Westknits in between. Love the grand finale!

Stephen, this shawl is absolutely beautiful. As Mary Poppins would say, perfect in every way. It is my favorite of all your MKAL shawls. I thoroughly enjoyed all of your CLUE videos for this one. All's well that ends well. Thank you, Stephen.

I really appreciate your care in walking us through picking up all those border stitches so meticulously (while still encouraging us that it's OK to relax and fudge it if we need to!). I normally dread epic edge pickups, so having it broken down into segments was so incredibly helpful and kind. Thank you for this gorgeous design and all the thoughtful care that goes along with it!

What a gorgeous design, Stephen! It is just so lovely and totally 70's with the 'accidental' crochet section. It combines perfectly with the last section and the fringe! I love it and I am a little sorry for myself that I didn't join in this year. But I might make it anyway once I find the perfect colours to do the design justice. I love how it works in so many colour combinations. 🥰
