Several Household Cavalry soldiers were thrown from their mounts before the animals bolted in the capital.
In a video shared on social media, Lieutenant Colonel Matt Woodward confirmed that three soldiers "incurred injuries which are not deemed to be life-threatening" and are receiving treatment in hospital.
The escaped horses have all been returned to Hyde Park Barracks, where they are undergoing veterinary care.

Colonel, I'm an old American cavalry trooper.
Please allow me to speak for your troopers and say THANK YOU for keeping your priorities straight. Soldiers first, always. As we both know, there is a type of officer who would worry about this accident's effect on their career first or worry about the equipment first or the public perception first. It appears that your command does not tolerate such behavior from leadership and I think every soldier can appreciate that.
This is a professional and clear briefing for the public... the language is simple, the talking points are clear, filled with facts, and the key point is repeated twice: this is the number of soldiers injured, they are receiving professional care, all the mounts have been recovered and are likewise receiving care.
