having his son played by the guy who plays a younger version of him in Young Rock was pretty cool

Giving the powers of the gods to a grieving person is a recipe for destruction.

His son's love and his willingness to protect the people of Kahndaq, especially giving his powers to his father is understandable. Black Adam's rage for the death of his family is understandable as well. And him feeling unworthy to be called the 'champion' of Kahndaq is understandable too.

Fun Fact: In the original comics, Black Adam was originally a prince of Egypt when he was granted the powers of the Champion.

Comic version was FAR less altruistic. It was not his son that got the powers, but his nephew. His nephew didn't just give him all his powers, but split them between them. But Adam thought he was too idealistic and tricked his nephew into powering up Adam while he intercepted the lightning intended for his nephew, then killed him. So uh... kinda hard to root for that version of the guy.

If any father lost his son like that. This is the rage that you would feel if you truly love your son

Dwayne was phenomenal and his back story was outstanding. My only gripe with the movie was the on the nose and out of touch kid and his reckless rebellion theme

"Dad, you're dying, let me give you my powers!" 15 seconds later..."Son, now YOU'RE dying....if only there was something I could do. Oh, well".

Great film..I just finished watching it on tubi. I've always liked black Adam since I was younger.. growing up in the 80s 90s reading comics, he's always been on my list of favourites.šŸ‘šŸ»āš”

Iā€™m a firm believer it takes a special kind of vigilante or hero to handle some evil. You can be all powerful but evil has no bounds and it will use your bystanders, property and even love ones as collateral.(Joker injustice). Had the wizard chose black Adam originally he probably could have saved his son and restored Kahndaq. Sometimes being a noble, and good hero just wonā€™t cut it.

I don't care what critics and people say about Black Adam, it should have been given a second chance

The background music was great, when I saw the father son scene, I got emotional, that was really sad and powerful at the same time! Great story! DWYANE JOHNSON I love your movies! Thank you for another great performance! I hope to see a Black Adam 2!

I really enjoyed this film in cinema, canā€™t understand, why some people are upset about it, it made Adam more realistic, gives character development, only annoying thing was kid, that was more of a trouble. Much better than new Thor, and Doctor Strange 2

Just my two cents: I think they can develop Adam's characterization a bit more before the revelation that he was not who we thought he was. In his past life, Black Adam was either someone who tried to lay low to keep his family out of trouble, or someone who was oppressed to the point of complete batsh*t rage. When he was released in modern day, he did act weird but did not really show traits of someone who has been through what he has been through. He was more calm, showed unexpected compassion and willingness to help a couple of strangers that he just met, stuff that just did not seem to match to what he was before he was imprisoned.
