Adam Granduciel: β€˜Winning a grammy was fuel for creativity for The War On Drugs.’

When Adam Granduciel was walking around Sound City studio with a broom in his hand trying to find the rhythm of the drums he knew enough: β€˜I was working too hard on the album’. So he stripped away the psychedelic parts and the background vocals, leaving a very concise Living Proof.

This line is followed on their forthcoming album 'I Don’t Live Here Anymore'. A collection as concise as it gets for a lengthy band like The War On Drugs. Although they where very close to putting a 32 minute song on the album. Sagid discusses this process of their new album with The War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel.

Amazing interview! And I share your pain when I saw they weren't making long songs... "Thinking of a place" is still one of my favorite songs of all time! Keep up the good work, much love.

Does Adam get emotional around 6:00? Then clears his throat. He knows his purpose. He’s been through a lot, you can see it.
