Music like this just seems to pull out a part of you that you never knew existed, it's
nostalgic and powerful, it makes you feel alive..
like you can do anything, it gives you a sense of hope and strength which you thought
you'd never find. It seems to lift a thousand worries from your
shoulders and takes you to another realm, somewhere no conflicts
arise, a place only you, your soul, and mind exist and you feel totally
at peace. Perhaps we connect to another place through the things that make
us feel this way, perhaps not, but all I
know is that I have found my escape.

I still keep coming back to this mix, almost seven years later, because it's associated with one of my favorite memories. I was marshalling at the Sno*Drift rally in northern Michigan, and had left Midland at 4:00 in the morning to be in Atlanta by the start time. My twin-turbo Volvo had no problem cruising at seventy on the deserted, snow-dusted highway,- the blowing snow becoming a galaxy of stars blasting past at hyperspeed. All this was then set to a glorious soundtrack: a turbo straight-six through a three-inch catback and this wonderful, wonderful album. I'm not ashamed to say that eventually - as I could take it no longer - I pulled to the side of the road and wept with joy. When I look back on my time as an automotive journalist, trying as it sometimes way, this memory alone is reward enough for experiencing that part of my life.

It brings tears to my eyes(tears of joy) and thank you for showing this music on your channel and thank you to you, Arctic Empire, and all of your producers for putting this mix/playlist/whatever you want to call this amazing work of integrity, art, and this is living love, compassion, and one of the reasons I love my life. The journey was long and tiring, and now it has led you here. You've gone through so many things, met so many people, recorded so many good memories. You close your eyes and it feels like those people are still around you, their hand on your shoulder can still be sensed, their kisses can still be appreciated and their smiles are still heartfilling... but only in the domain of dreams can you now see them. They were here, now they're gone. It's not like the world will end, instead it feels like there was no world. It feels like you belonged to someghing that held you connected to this space, you were so dearly, so deeply attached to. Now there is only this razor toothed void that's burning from the inside. Lost... being lost was what came after the pain of missing how they smelled, how they looked at you with smiles, even when they were pretending. You try to sit down and tell yourself that there is a reason, so you go on a mental quest to find it. You lock your soul and heart up in your mind and there... you search and search for this reason that you think caused this turn in events, but what for? So weak, the smallest hope becomes so meaningful, you try to find anything that helps you get back to the way it was. You search on every corner of your inner self, every corner of every recorder memory. Yet there is nothing to be found. It wasn't your fault even though you end up wishing it was, you end up wishing you could repair what is so broken inside and out. But there is nothing, there never was. Yet you still feel this pain? It's fading with time, slowly becoming part of you. With every passing day, you slowly start to accept and yet... small drops of hope somehow remain. Every parcel of it would revive you a thousand times... but you know that it's not coming.
It has led you here. Now you stand, with so many memories of them... with so many memories of her. You can still hear her calling your name, still feel her holding into your soul, merging with your heart.
Regret, even though it wasn't your fault. You wonder if it's ever going to change. If this feeling will eventually disappear...
... but do you really want it to? It's all that remains to you from her.

Listening to the music being played, I am no longer on Earth, I am in my happy place, free from all the worries I see around me, of my creations. This is much better than drinking alcohol, or doing any drugs. Which I am proud I do nether ;-) This music allows me to dream clearly, to smile without feeling bad. Thank you Arctic Empire for sharing your music with us listeners :-) I hope to listen to more of your creations here on You Tube :-)
