You haven’t even mentioned the voice acting. It’s not that I dislike the voice actors themselves, it’s just that their voices are very different in the anime than in the game. The students sound much more like adults and less like teenagers in the animation, while looking several years younger. I also feel you when you were talking about friends that say “oH dAnGaNrOnPa! I’vE sEeN tHaT sHoW!” Like- PLEASE PLAY THE GAME! Or even if you can’t buy the game, just watch playthroughs. There will definitely be much more content and if you’re someone like me who gets confused sometimes when they talk about certain things in the trials, the fast pace of the trials in the animation and the way the characters jump back and forth between topics, you’ll enjoy watching/playing the game. They explain things in much more detail and you can really and thoroughly follow what the protagonist is saying. The art style made me kinda tilt my head to the side. They looked so young, and sometimes straight up changed how some characters looked in some scenes. I mean for 11037…I mean Leon, they straight up changed his whole eye color! Not to mention the awkward dialog choices, “bUt OuR kIlLeR hAd MaD sKilLs!”

I'm honestly really happy that the animation's on Disney now. As a longtime fan who's played THH and SDR2, I'm really looking forward to finally watching this, even if it's not great.
While I agree that I don't like Disney and Danganronpa this close to each other, I think it'll be cool to see the fandom expand and reach new people who wouldn't have otherwise known of its existence, and who'll hopefuy go play the games.
Also, seeing the franchise branch out and do stuff like putting the animation on Disney may be a sign of things to come, like a new game perhaps...?
Well, one can always hope.

It’s a bummer that not everyone plays video games, but Danganronpa really is one of those things that just isn’t good as anything else. A large chunk of the appeal is solving mysteries and learning about the characters at your own pace. There’s even secret or special interactions you get with them if you talk to them enough. Plus the animation isn’t nearly as good as the paper cut out of the game 😂
