This whole scene is simultaneously the most eloquently written and also the most savagely hilarious piece of dialogue I've ever heard in fiction.
The one-two punch of the "DOCKSIDE WHOREKEEPS" line followed swiftly by "WARMING UP THE STABLE BOY" is such a carefully crafted yet swiftly delivered burn that makes me lose my fucking mind every time I watch this.

The "YOU'VE GONE...YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR THIS TIME" at 1:34 is legendary.

For those who want to locate the sound files for this conversation:
Under the thief_2/RES folder, copy and unzip snd.crf to some other empty folder of your choosing.
Red Guard's lines are under guard1, named sg11101A, C, E, and G
Purple Guard's lines are under Guard5, named sg51101B, D, F, and H

I still remember this gorgeus moment when playing Thief myself. Thanks for recovering it, because the old youtube channel where I used to find it is already gone.
This game scene is so epic that I used the idea years later, as a random event in a D&D campaign for a spy character. When the player told me he wanted to remain hidden until the end of the discussion I directly searched a clip from this scene and put it for him on the screen.
This made me start a funny background for certain NPCS in my campaign (plus gainning another fan from this great game :D)

Whenever I read a huge flamewar on the Internet I always read them in these voices.
