If it weren't for David Bennett's piano channel , I'd never have realised just how insanely complex the time signature changes are in this song. I love the fact they can create something so musically complex, yet for the average listener, they just hear a beautiful song. That is great musicianship right there.

The entire album is an intense example of the incredible depth and sophistication of Radiohead's musical catalog. It's definitely underrated, especial when you consider that this song exists on the same album as "Myxomatosis", as hard rocking a song as any rock band has ever done. This beauty is a definite highlight of the record, seek out the Jonny/Thom live duo versions, and the amazing acoustic piano covers on Youtube, they'll blow your mind.

Something I've noticed is that I fall in love with Radiohead songs not when I want to, but when the song finds me. And it's happened to me various times now, this one being one of them.
I've already heard the first seconds of the song, when looking in their discography for something that would catch my eye, but it somehow felt slow and boring at the time. I skipped through it without a second thought.
Now cut to a couple days ago, I was really not in the best place or the best mood. I decided to listen to whatever yt put my way and immediately this songs started playing. At first it sounded like another depressing song, it almost mocked how beat up I felt over everything... That feeling of giving up what you wanted to accomplish and everything going against you. The soft progression of guitar riffs contrasting the almost assertive like sounding piano chords, it almost sounds like thoughts and a person's willpower trying to stand up against all odds. The almost unfinished sounding final chords ascending in a soft matter sound like rays of hope in the gloomy atmosphere of the piece. It didn't make me happy, no, that's not the point. It almost made me see something in the song that I was experiencing at the time,a sense of failure, or a loss, with some hope and a will to power through.
I've come to a conclusion over the years, that Radiohead songs are meant to be stumbled upon in the right time, you can't appreciate them fully otherwise.

This song reminds me of a clear night sky. The stars twinkling, the occasional moving lights from aome sort of aircraft, the soft colors of our milky way. Yet it all has this mysteriousness to it that is kinda so unexplainable. It's so vast, and anything can be put there. Idk jhst thought I'd share my thoughts.

I don't understand yet why Radiohead is so damn good, it's like every freakin song you listen from them is the best one.
