Best atmosphere of any AC game by far. Also basically the only game in the series that you're an assassin and not just someone looking for revenge

Assassinā€™s Creed 1 was such a perfect start to a franchise I would love for many years. The Assassinā€™s vs Templar conflict was so palpable and real. It was by far my favourite part of these games. The hidden war between these factions and the love with which the stories were told. The recent entries in the series lost me with the RPG route they took and less focus on the Assassin and Templar conflict. I am really hoping this weekend will show me there is still love being poured into this franchise by Ubisoft!

Damnā€¦ 15 years! I still remember the advertises in GameStop shops and Youtube trailers, it was such an innovation back then, I was stunned and mesmerized by this game after seeing the trailer, itā€™s unbelievable how 15 years have passed in a blink of an eye ā€¦

The atmosphere of the first game is unparalled and really hasn't been replicated since in the following entries. I miss the grittiness and more serious tone of the story instead of it just being another swashbuckling adventure (though I still love that in the series).

The story is what got me hooked since the first AC all the way to Origins. Didn't like Oddisey and Valhalla. And while what came before wasn't perfect, it still has the AC soul. The first game and the Ezio trilogy hold a special place in my heart.

This game will have a special place in my heart. I know it isn't as good as later games, but this was so much fun and very different from other games from the era. I don't get the same feeling anymore with the new games.

The original trilogy will live forever live in our gamer hearts. ā¤ļø Iā€™m currently replaying the Ezio Collection on PS5, by the way.

The puppeteer system is really similar to the controls in Death Stranding. Simple and intuitive once you understand stand it. Atmosphere is also top tier. Modern AC games are way to streamlined when it comes to movement and climbing...

The first AC was amazing. The scale was insane. It had the open world inbetween the 3 cities and then the cities themselves were pretty big. My favourite thing to do was to fight using the hidden blade exclusively. Since you can't actually use it to attack, the only way you can play with it is using it to one-hit-kill counter enemies and it was so fun just destroying them one after the other. Literally a power fantasy. Hugh risk high reward.

It's amazing how well AC 1 has held up over the years from the gameplay to the graphics.

It's insane how big this series got in 15 years. The sheer number of games launched in this time is quite something.

AC 1 will always have a special place in my heart. I still remember 15 years ago I was so amazed by the game, I bunked classes and saved pocket money just to play it on the cafes. Man those were days, I miss so much.

The first game is the easiest for me to go back and play over and over again. The focus around the assassination and investigating to discover specific routes to your target or finding allies to aid your escape was awesome. He hit the nail on the head when he said the escapes following assassinations are some of the most exhilarating parts of the game. I would say theyā€™re some of the most tense sections in the whole franchise. Nothing beats the fantasy of being an Assassin better than the first game.

I wished the concepts in this game were expanded. The sequels felt less like you were in some secret organisation. I guess unity would be the closest in terms of the ideas in AC1. I hope ubisoft can go back to this style but obviously better

The modern day and Desmond is not the second storyline, itā€™s the entire reason for the franchise

This is my baby right here. This game started it all for me when I was 12 years old. My love for video games is tethered to this masterpiece

Really hope the rumors that this game is getting a full-fledged remake are true, I just hope it's faithful to the original and doesn't shove unnecessary RPG elements into it.
