I remember having this album when it first came out. There has been nothing like it since. Pure fusion at the height of its pinnacle. Today's fusion is just too much like a gospel chop-fest trying to see how fast one can go without making much sense.

But I do not see Joni credited here with vocals, or vocal sounds. That is definitely her. Well, she was with John Guerin for awhile then no more. Bad Scene. But LA Express did tour with her and play on 'Miles of Aisles' so she was part of that crew. John even played on some tunes of 'Wild Things Run Fast' which was done a couple of years later. So they kept a professional relationship going.

Nordic Winds has a very sublime feel to it. That was part and parcel of the music that came out around that era. The mind set of the country at that time was both rebellious and very creative and musicians led the way. Different and fresh points of view were starting to emerge and groups like LA Express were exploring new music ideas, breaking with the traditional concepts of rock, funk and jazz. It was a very exciting time and produced some of the best music ever. So nice to see and hear channels like this one keeping the music from that time alive for a whole new generation to hear and appreciate. Thanks for keeping the flame burning.
