My brother was killed a few months ago in a hit and run accident. Our best days were spent cruising the streets in a fog of Grizzly Bear melodies. I remember we played a game, first to talk loses. Music was a form of prayer for us. I still haven't lost my faith, and judging by this new work, neither have you.

1:34 is like the sun bursting through thick clouds. Utterly beautiful.

Chris Bear is such an underrated drummer. Grizzly Bear always has these intense, busy rhythm tracks in their songs and yet you never hear anything about him.

The opening riff cuts into you like nothing else. It's amazing.

Musical poetry.  "Dreamed the long day just wandering free Though I'm far gone you sleep nearer to me If I could find peace If this night leaves But I can't help myself So I'll walk out these wandering dreams Up the north road dressed gold and green If I could lie still as that great hill But I can't help myself Well it's calm and clear Collapsed here on the stone Delivered to this place A vision dark and cloaked And those figures through the leaves And that light through the smoke And those countless empty days made me dizzy when I woke And I live to see your face And I hate to see you go But I know no other way than straight on out the door And I can't help myself"

the lyrics to this song are phenomenal, possibly the bands best work.

I spent a lot of time searching for something like Jeff Buckley and here it is. Love it.

This really reminds me of what Genesis sounded like between 1971 and 1978. Brilliant song as well as brilliant musicianship.

How could there ever be a music video prescribed to this song. A song that transcends music, being and imagination.

i remember hearing this song almost 5 years ago as the first preview of Sheilds. listening now it feels nostalgic and sad yet beautiful; when I heard this song the first time I knew it was special. Many songs take time to develop affection, but the real special ones captivate you first listen. thanks grizzly bear for all the feels.

At 3:10, when the beat's dropped out, and all the commotion and grandness that had been building through the whole song gives way to an entirely different place, and it's just Ed and the acoustic guitar, mysterious and sweet, that's my favorite moment of the song.

For me, Grizzly Bear evokes the earliest childhood memories I can recall. I am 4 and at a public swimming pool in 1981 with other kids screaming and playing with joy. And the sun is bright and warm against aqua colored tiles surrounding the pool. I smell the chlorine and I am happy. Thats the power of Grizzly Bear.
