I remember listening to this song not being able to relate to it. One of my favorites but it stings now. Had my first relationship at 20 on Jan 1st of this year. We ended it 4 days ago. The week before was the last time i saw him. We were planning on going to a concert, going to church together. He told me about his bad childhood and i told him my insecurities and he made me feel better. It was the best night ever. We made out and it was so passionate. 3 days later he texts me that he needs space to take care of himself and family because his dad started getting sick again. He told me about his dad before and he didnt know how to feel because they dont have the best relationship. The night before he sent that text i was having heart palpitations because my anxiety and intrusive thoughts were getting so bad. I remember praying to God that night for an answer whether i should continue this relationship or not. We both were struggling with our mental health and i realized we were using each other as our main source of happiness. He told me he was sorry for everything and he thought he couldn’t give me what i deserve and that it was unfair to me. I understood. I responded and told him ill always love him and will always be praying for him and his family. He said he’ll always love me and pray for me too and to take care. He unfollowed me 2 days later. And when i noticed i texted him asking if he needed space or if we were done. He said its best if we go our own separate ways and that he was sorry. I thanked him for loving me and for making me feel good about myself despite my insecurities. I told him i love him because hes a good person and deserves peace. I was left on delivered. Trying to move on. I know i’ll get better but he was like my twin.
