The issue I find with Rein is he's not worth respecting. Whereas Orisa MUST be respected because it's incredibly difficult to push her in, no one respects Rein because any substantial ground he takes is immediately mitigated by a flurry of bullets but more importantly being pushed around. So many Heroes move you nowadays one way or another Rein just can't hold ground with a Queen, Lucio, Venture, or anyone with any form of moving enemies just pushing or pulling him out of positions, its most prevalent in 11:28-12:02. Buffing his Earthshatter doesn't do much because he can't do anything if he can't stay in a position where the shatter would matter most.
That's how I personally see it, at least. I love Rein so much, but no one will ever respect him in his current state.

I think simply making reins charge unstoppable like mangas would help him feel a lot better. I feel he gets thrown around and stopped way to easy for a big charging German

How good would Rein be if they gave him Gundam Evo dashes + his charge is now connected to a resource meter and burning fire strike with the longer the fire strike travels the more it burns (nerf damage obviously)? Maybe nerf shatter a little bit to compensate

The problem is that he can't take or hold any space.
He should bare minimum have some damage resistance on his charge. If you fuck up a pin and get stuck out of position, you should be punished - but you shouldn't watch your health bar explode the second you press Shift. More of his health being armor again would also help.
I also think he should have a stronger form of the Tank passive as well, something like a 70% reduction to knockback. If Rein is in an area, you shouldn't be able to just push him off with a slight breeze.
It'd be nice if enemies also couldn't just walk up into your shield and shoot you from inside it. It should block damage a bit behind him as well. Or at least change the shape to be a bit more curved or add some side walls, he's way too vulnerable when he gets walked up on.
