This is one amazing man & officer. I recently saw the Netflix show & I messaged him on how brave I thought he was & his devotion to keeping his family safe really touched my heart. Told him he was a hero. To my utter amazement, he messaged me back. Extremely humble saying he was just a retired cop who did his job. I know he means what he says & prays for his soul every night. What an awesome gentleman & hero

Woooo ! The comments are ridiculous and demented.
I WILL say this, BEFORE the crimes I believe Richard Ramirez was an incredibly emotionally repressed and damaged person from his upbringing. As a child he, he needed love that he never got. I think he was a sensitive kid who never learned coping skills or had SOMEONE to talk to. He needed therapy, not drugs, abuse and bad influences. He was a product of his environment and the embodiment of the African proverb; A child that is not embraced by his village will burn it down to feel its warmth.

He absolutely should pay for his crimes against humanity, he admitted he knew what he was doing. But you have to remember, he had so much resentment from all his pain and in order to do what he did he mustโve never been at peace a day in his life. He spent his life in prison, now heโs dead, and for what itโs worth I hope everyone is at peace when they die. Nobody deserves eternal suffering.

Gil comes across as so nice but when you have read he told PD to shoot Richard on site, ask questions later, you realize he isn't so nice after all. He already had Richard convicted of the crimes before he was apprehended. There was no innocent until proven guilty in this case. After the convictions, I think Richard probably told Carillo some bs to keep him coming to the jail and bringing him sweets ( he loved sweets). I really doubt Richard told him anything that could be further incriminating. And Richard was very adamant about not abducting or molesting anyone. Even in the very beginning when he wanted to plead guilty so his family didn't have to go through the trial, those were the 2 things he said that he absolutely would not plead guilty too. Gil's side of the story is one-side and Richard isn't here to tell his side or defend himself. Gil you are wrong. I also pray for Richard's soul. The complete interview is 47 minutes and I am referring to some things that are in other parts of the interview.

๐๐๐ I get so emotional whenever I see his appearance... it breaks my heart. It's a truly cruel world we live in, all a game of chance... none of us are immune. Richard tried, very hard... but he's been dealt a bad card one too many times, and sadly he couldn't keep up with the perverted twisting and turning of this world upon him anymore, and snapped. Only when he gave as good as he got, people recognized him as a human being. And that made Richy happy, for a little while. But he always just wanted to die, and be rid of this world far and behind him, and be finally at peace. Nobody can hurt him now, finally, he's at peace. Or so I pray.
