I was working for a congressman in DC for the summer. It was my last week there so I decided to smoke about 2 g’s worth of this stuff my roommate left for me. I was aimlessly walking around GW campus and came across a frat house that was blasting this song. I knocked on the door (for some reason) and they greeted me like I had known them forever. We had a few beers/more joints and I made some new friends. Won’t ever forget that.

Oh Wow! I remember the Animals’ version of this song in summer of ‘66; I was working between semesters at school. It was ‘our’ theme song as working on the factory floor in a bubble gum factory had that feeling. We were a bunch of labor rebels however. I was ‘on the road ‘ in ‘78/79 so for some reason I never heard this version. My theme song at that time was ‘Bakers Street’ and ‘Running On Empty’ among others but if I had heard that version then, I know I would have loved it and taken it into memory. Thanks for this.

Although I wore out this album in 78/79, this final song of the album was a dud. I personally don't like the song, and the fact that BOC felt the need to do covers, given their vast array of great songs, always puzzled me.
