I went through a terrible and depressing rejection. I couldn't feel emotions anymore, I had liked her forever, and I finally built up the courage, and I got publicly rejected. I wanted to tell her how she made me feel, but I couldn't, I was to depressed at home to think about moving on. Then I sent her this song. A week later she hugged me and told me she didn't know I felt that way. I couldn't believe it; I cried right there. She said that she wanted to date me because she hated boys who always acted tough, she wanted a boy who could cry, and who would need a shoulder to cry on. Now we are together, and she makes me the happiest person on earth. Boywithuke changed my life forever. Thank you, just, thank you.

I’ve been rejected twice and this song honestly captures it perfectly
1. The horrible awkwardness at the beginning as you’re trying to hype yourself into it “it’s getting dark out, don’t you think?”
2. The building anxiety/anticipation right before you say (I hear it in the chorus, it’s amazing)
3. The sudden sinking feeling when they say no but at the same time the bittersweet feeling of closure after the rejection (in the chorus as well)
4. And then the second verse “that’s too far, I’m so sorry, please excuse my mess. I’m so stupid, so worthless, I won’t do it again” the feelings of guilt and the feeling of inadequacy
5. “I hate you I hate that I wish you were dead” pretty much speaks for itself, but after being rejected by someone you liked seeing them hurts so much and a lot of times you grow to hate them for it, and you hate yourself for hating them too
