I love this guy! I watch videos to reinforce my lectures and readings, and he helps so much! The part at 2:50 "these people look very happy, let me draw an unhappy individual" hahaha

Sir, i hav watched all your videos and i must say that i have learned a lot from them.
Your way of teaching is excellent and one can easily grasp the crux of theory that you are teaching.
But, the problem is, you have uploaded just 13 lecture videos. They are not enough for student like me.
Sir, please upload more lecture videos.
Thank you very much for your effort

The modern states emerged in 1648 when a series of Peace treaties (Peace of Westphalia) were signed amongst European countries. These treaties ended the Thirty Years' War (1618β1648) in the Holy Roman Empire, and the Eighty Years' War (1568β1648) between Spain and the Dutch Republic, with Spain formally recognizing the independence of the Dutch Republic.
The reason that why these treaties are so important is because it was the first time that states started to have the power/right of self-determination. A new system of political order was established in Europe based on the negotiations of diplomatic congresses. Westphalian Sovereignty is the most important characteristic of this new system, referring to the co-existing sovereign states. All states started to follow the norm of non-interference in each other's domestic affairs (at least as promised) and play the game of balance of power in the regional/international political system. This form of state later spread across the world as Europe's global influence in the next several hundred years' history. Today, it has become a solid part of international law and prevailing world order.
