Honestly I think the main issue here is that concierge were promised upgrades and a revamp of the concierge system a few years back, then silence the whole time, no changes, only for one of the only perks of being concierge to now be removed for a lot of concierge players, so in the last 5 or so years, the only thing concierge players recieved is the removal of features.

CIG: "We need more people to test these features" Also CIG: "pls send us 25k so you can test our features"

I have been in this game for less than a year, and even I don't care anymore. I can't imagine how it feels like for those who have been in it for years and years. Feels like one betrayal after a next..

Bad news should always be delivered face to face. How has CIG not learned this yet? This should have been announced in video format with basically your explanation included.

I regret ever giving money to this project. They’ve literally monetized hopes and dreams.

If it Walks Like a Duck, Talks like a Duck, Looks like a Duck...It's probably a Duck. Let's call this what it is...This has been NOTHING but a scam

Im upset I ever spent more than the lowest entry level starter pack. I'm also thankful I didn't go heavy into pledging like some of my friends did.

Imagine paying 10s of thousands of dollars to test a game.

It is amazing how a legitimately cool project can morph into a scam.

I feel that one of the main issues with players not committing to testing the PTU is the resetting of their game rep that force them to start with all the lower tiered missions. Come the new patch, everything gets reset again. A double whammy for every player. If testers were at least given full rep levels to test the PTU, it may keep them playing in the PTU. The inevitable player reset that comes with the new patch, strongly feels like ground hog day as players will have to rebuild their progress from scratch. If CiG really wanted proper engagement with their backers, they could at least offer some reward for players to participate. For example, all credits earned in the PTU will be transferred to the PU when released. This would help testers to build enough credits to load out their stock ship components and start progressing through the PU again.

It’s crazy to me that we already have to pay an entry to “test” the PU as an alpha tester then they need us to also get into the PTU like an unpaid intern but now you have to pay to be that unpaid intern and then be blamed for the bad releases because we didn’t spend enough time doing their jobs for them before the patches go live

CIG could actually PAY professional game testers if that’s what they need. Instead they’ve somehow managed to twist it so that the players are paying THEM to test a game. The players have been played, and they played themselves.

CIG is so delusionally unhinged with their prices it's not even funny.

No matter what this shouldn't be gated by money. It should be gated by time and feed back. Honestly I don't feel like the ptu is guided enough by the 3rd test wave. Evocati they talk to directly but after that there wasn't really a way for cig to direct the test environment. I honestly did use the ptu to see me shiny ships but that's because the test weren't guided they were just kinda there

This is 100% a CIG problem, not a player problem. CIG are in control of this entire development, and we are just paying players at the end of the day. The extremely long PTU cycle of 3.18 is a problem with CIG and CIG only. CIG have relied upon the funding of players as well as the free play testing said players provide, and still push out broken patches like 3.18 despite there being nearly a year between 3.17 release and 3.18 release. Now they want to remove $1000+ player perks under the guise that they want a more focused testing group, yet allow subscribers to get access for 10 bucks regardless which throws their entire reasoning out the window. Its just a dirty marketing trick, which is in line with CIG. Cant wait to see how they further devolve into EA 2.0

Star Citizen players are going to have a LOT of fun playing Starfield when it comes out and likely NEVER go back to SC. You think Roberts&co would have realized this before making dick moves.

A really big issue with keeping people in the PTU is the absolutely atrocious level of feedback on the issue council (and its overall design). Issues require at least 10 others to replicate before they stick around but they are only attached to a single patch so they immediately get hidden and die when CIG is patching quickly. Even then, there's likely already an issue for a previous patch in the process of falling off so people will claim its a duplicate even when the old issue is already closed. Even in the rare time when you get an issue through the gauntlet, it's just complete crickets from CIG until it maybe gets fixed in some random future patch. The entire process just feels bad. Looking through old issues to see if there's a workaround and realizing that the bug you've found has existed and been brought up in every single patch cycle for over a year only to never have crossed the reproduction threshold (because people stopped using the ship/feature due to the bug) feels even worse. If they want people to do better in the PTU, they need to do a better job of making people feel like their time and feedback is worthwhile. Right now it feels like Evocati is the only cycle they talk to and they don't do it on the tool they expect us plebs to use.
