I'm practically writing a love letter, but I've never felt more connected to something than evangelion.
The anime is a reminder of who I was when I was younger. Depressed kid with no reason of hope or care, begging for my life to end. I grew and evolved with those feelings changing to something more hopeful. I don't want my life to end, and I wish to find peace with my life.
Evangelion has reminded me of who was then and who I am now. I fell in love with the story and the characters because of the movies. They grew into people who felt real, a contrast from the anime, whereas they had a one-sided personality. I was like that when I was 13, with my own one-sided personality being a front to hide who I really was.
I saw it and found it hard to connect with the characters then because it looked like me of the past. I didn't like that version of me. But I realized after watching the movies that I love the franchise as a whole.
I love the anime, and I love the movies. The movies are just me now. Remind me of who I am and what I've grown from.
The evolution of the series has always been the biggest deal to me. I've never loved a series more than Evangelion.

I remember that when I went to see the movie at the cinema, I arrived at the last transmission on the last day that the movie was in theaters in my country since for work I could not go before.
It was a beautiful experience to see the end of the whole series after 20 years; I enjoyed the movie from beginning to end, the soundtrack was one of the best there was in the whole series and the ending was very special and then, when Shinji and Mary run out of the station and this song plays, I started crying a little. From now on, every time I hear this I will remember that great experience I had watching the movie.
