Well this sucker took me surprise! The inspiration sweater is an Alexander Wang $1000 Sweater but you can make your own, CUSTOM version for dollars!
You can do this to any sweater but a cable knit sweater, or something with a specific pattern will be easiest.
All you need to do is apply the safety pins following the pattern of the sweater and boom! a perfectly designed pattern.
TIP!!! Buy more safety pins then you think you need because once you're in the groove, you move fast and you're going to wish you could do a few more spots or make them more dense.

you could reattach the sleeves with the safety pins to create an interesting detail on the shoulder seam which makes it even more customizable, then you could wear it with the sleeve or with out depending on your vibe that day. I love the cable knit option

Love! Guess my mom was ahead of her time! She always had safety pins on her clothes. In fact when I upscaled a denim jacket, I added a bunch of pins to the front of chest pocket in a pattern. And could she patch jeans! This my favorite creative blog!

Wow! Who knew that common safety pins could elevate sweaters so much! My favorite is the cream sweater because of the center design even before the pins. Not that you'd want to do this, but you could take the safety pins out of the black sweater and paint the stripes a vivid color so that the pins would show up better. Love this - love you!

Girl, you could attach them with safety pins and undo them when you want to wear it as a tank. So very cute, edgy. I like it alot!!!
