The "perfectionist" versus "pragmatist" dilemma needs to take into account the risk-reward outcome too: it's easy to be pragmatic over a dinner choice but less so when the stakes are high e.g. choosing a car seat for your child; trusting someone with a large investment or even finding the right partner š¤£

One principle Iāve adopted since I hit 40 was donāt be afraid to time box. Thereās a trade off for projects that we are passionate about and the time and investment that comes with them. If you time box your habits and projects you are more likely to choose the ones of higher value and follow through on them.

I agreed with your reflection on being a pragmatist and be real with what you want. Now in my 30s, and realising that after spending 9 years working to only found out that my true passion was the first job that I left. Did I regret, that I lost valuable working experience? No, it was a great experience as you get to explore what the world got to offer and finally discover your core passion. Project "Life Transition" in progress
