Join Actress/Author Dee Wallace (E.T., The Howling, Cujo), Director/Producer/Writer/Actress Deborah Voorhees (13 Fanboy, Friday the 13th part V, Avenging Angel), local horror film actor Monique Candelaria (Lovecraft Country), as they discuss how to create and act in horror films., as they discuss how to create and act in horror films. Deborah, Dee, and Monique will talk about their involvement in horror films, from acting to producing and discussing the future of women in the industry. Follow-up questions from the audience are taken at the end of the panel.

Originally from Kansas City, Kansas, Dee Wallace has worked as an author, teacher, dancer and actress in film, television, and stage for over 40 years. Her career began in New York where she studied with famous acting legend Uta Hagen before moving to Los Angeles where she found her mentor, Charles Conrad. With over 200 credits to her name, Ms. Wallace is a true tour de force in the industry, working with countless producers and directors and some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Wes Craven, Joe Dante, Lewis Teague, Stephen King, Blake Edwards and Rob Zombie. Her many film credits include The Hills Have Eyes, The Howling, Cujo, Secret Admirer, The Frighteners, 10 and of course, her role as Mary in Steven Spielberg’s E.T., The Extraterrestrial. She has appeared in almost 200 films, 5 television series, and 400 commercials. Ms. Wallace has just completed three films for release in 2019: Every Other Holiday, Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell, and Jingle Belle. Other recent credits include NCIS, Shooter, and Law and Order L.A. Ms. Wallace is also starring in Amazon’s series Just Add Magic.

Deborah Voorhees, the director and producer of 13 Fanboy, has been a director, producer, writer, editor, and teacher, even a Hollywood B-scream starlet. In film and television, she worked as an actress in Friday the 13th part V, Avenging Angel, Innocent Prey with P.J. Soles, seven episodes of Dallas, Riptide, and Days of Our Lives. Her latest film 13 Fanboy, which she directs, comes out October 22, 2021. A homicidal fanboy, with a deadly obsession, stalks his favorite slasher scream queens from Friday the 13th and Halloween, starring Dee Wallace (E.T., The Howling, Cujo, Critters, The Hills Have Eyes, Halloween, The Frighteners and more) and Deborah Voorhees.

Monique Candelaria graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2009 with a Theatre Degree Emphasis in Acting and by 2010 she began her journey of bringing stories to life.
The film where she officially became a Sag-Aftra Union member in 2011 was none other than “Banshee Chapter” as ‘Patient 14’. This movie is loosely based on the HP Lovecraft short story “From Beyond”. Then the following year Monique landed her 1st lead role out of state in “The Control Group”. Monique’s most recent horror endeavor that has become the highlight of her career is taking on the role of ‘Yahima Maraocoti’ in the HBO Max series ‘Lovecraft Country: Episode 4’. Being from the state of New Mexico, Monique is perhaps most recognized for her roles as 'Lucy' the Denny's waitress from 'Breaking Bad: Season 5 Episodes 1 & 16 in a flash forward scene that opens and closes the season and for the lead character named ‘Angela Baca’ in the film “Cents” where she is the mother of a mathematical genius. As of 2021 Monique has achieved a “Best Actor” award in the Mind Field Film Festival in New Mexico and a "Best Actor" award in the Denali Film Festival in Alaska for her performance in the film ‘Driftless’.
