10 years ago, I became a father for the first time. This brings back memories!
Caitlin - you were everything a woman in labour could possibly have wanted for encouragement and support. No doubt you will be feeling a love and admiration for Leah, surpassing anything you've felt for her before.
Leah - you were strong and brave; well done for bringing your son into the world and soothing him so brilliantly amidst all the pain and emotional peaks. There's a school of thought that the three months after birth could be called "the fourth trimester" because baby's brain cannot yet handle the increased sensory input beyond the womb. As his brain develops he will make the transition to 'sentience,' but until then it's all about maintaining an environment that matches what he has known so far - that's why the sound of your voice and skin contact is so important at this stage.
And welcome to the world, Oakley! What a life you have in store for you, with these two remarkable Mums that wanted you, love you dearly and will put you at the heart of their every single day.
This is a wonderful vlog! Congratulations again. Enjoy every moment of this life you have created together - not least because he's going to grow fast and time will fly as never before!

My momma died last year unexpectedly and this made me cry so hard when Leah was "holding" him right after birth in the operating room. I miss her so much. She was the best mom ever. She used to have warm cookies ready after school and I remember that smell mixed with the smells of a clean house and laundry. It was like heaven. She was the very sweetest and most caring mother. 💯💔 CONGRATULATIONS! I hope Oakley has the same sweet memories of his MOMS. What a lucky little guy! 🫶Sending all my love and support.💙
