For those wondering about the factions and politics in this film:
Loyalist states - Capital is DC and under tyrannical rule of the President turned dictator.
Western Forces - Consisting of the two largest states Texas and California and loyal to the Constitution, seeks to overthrow President and restore the United States to its former glory.
New People's Army - Secessionist northern states bordering Canada, ideologically far left, capital likely Portland.
Florida Alliance - Secessionist southern states, ideologically MAGA, capital likely Mar-a-Lago.
A24's Civil War most likely draws inspiration from the Syrian Civil War where the two main factions, the Syrian Government and the FSA initially fought for control of the country while other factions like the leftist Kurds and utterly fanatical ISIS sought to carve new nations for themselves.
Its also implied that at the conclusion of the film, the war isnt over as the victorious WF in the form of the newly established United States is likely to mount invasions of the remaining secessionist factions to bring them back into US control.

I saw the film twice in Imax, once in German and once in the original version. I hadn't seen a trailer before, but I'm only watching it now because I really liked the film. Great images, professional camera work, a fascinating soundtrack - in my opinion, you just have to see it in the cinema.

Itโs better to watch this movie if youโve never seen the trailer (like I did), since I actually really liked it, but everybody else who has seen the preview has been disappointed that there โwasnโt enough actionโ, but I still really liked it.
