As a little girl watching this when it came out I didn’t quite understand the message in the video. Who knew that years later in my life this situation of being pregnant young would resonate with me, and having to wonder about the disappointment of how my dad felt at the time. I was a teenage boy in the 1980s and Madonna was ruling the World, clearing the path for those coming up after her. This song used to hit hard because I had a teenage GF at the time and we were just like these two, only a few years younger perhaps.
