Here now is the BEST redesign for this show. Scarecrow's darker design with the noose and black clothes/hat are incredible to behold. Plus Jeffrey Combs of Reanimator voicing him is genius, he's so different but even more effective. Love this version so much.

This is the greatest redesign in the entire DCAU. The creators of BTAS, while they were never satisfied with Scarecrow's initial design in his first episode, they always were dissatisfied with not just his design but the fact that he wasn't actually scary. Producer Bruce Timm in particular hated his designs in BTAS. While his second design is definitely an improvement over the first design, they still weren't satisfied with it at all and never thought he was really scary, and they would always tweak little details about it, which is why when they got to TNBA they decided to redesign him completely and they ended up with the best design Scarecrow has ever had and the best redesign in the entire DCAU. The new and improved design that resembled an undead corpse dressed as a Western preacher with a noose around his neck was just so iconic. They were so proud of the TNBA Scarecrow design that they never want to show Jonathan Crane outside of costume.

There was a deleted comic that explains that Scarecrow changed his look cause he got arrested in a southern town and hanged, only the rope broke. Scarecrow still believes he died and is a walking corpse

Scarecrow looks legit like a messed up scarecrow here love his redesign & I love Kevin’s lines in this and good on Tim for trying to stop Batman & Batman trying to trick him was dirty lol. & interesting how Kevin made the Batman voice a bit deeper here which we also here this exact tone of voice in the games and everything else he does as Batman from this point on it is different than the first 2 Batman seasons voices

At this part there’s an ominous, evil choir for the Scarecrow. It’s so chilling, it’s like a score for the ancient evil satanic figure who’s the bigger bad of an entire franchise. It makes Scarecrow scarier than ever.

What's more frightening then having no fear of anything? "Death is Death, does it matter who administers it?" ooh that line went hard. Of all the character redesigns, Scarecrow had the biggest glow-up or ghoul-up.

Here's a fun fact about The Scarecrows design in this show. The animators were never quite sure how much of Scarecrows appearance was a disguise and how much was genuine. Some people even think he's not even wearing a mask anymore. Some think he had a terribe accident involving chemicals, while others think that he actually died and came back as a zombie. It's kinda disturbing to think about.

Excellent Scarecrow redesign for a stellar episode, similar to what we see much later in Arkham Knight. Amazing the damage he can cause by simply reversing his usual schtick. Great episode for Tim, having to go against Batman.

In the Batman and TMNT crossover comic, after scarecrow saw the horrors of dimension X he cane up with this new costume to look scarier. Actually funny enough, i remembered first seeing this new design from Batman Rise of Sin Tzu and thinking it was such a crazy design.
