You'd think they'd be a little more concerned about SCAMMERS operating on their platforms, abusing their members.

My recently widowed neighbor was scammed 2 weeks ago when a caller told her that her deceased husband had an outstanding bill of $7500. She went to Walmart and bought 75 $100 gift cards. She called the scammer back and gave them the serial numbers. Her husband was a retired accountant and had been taking care of all the bills, she didn't have a clue. She is 77 years old. Evidently, the scammers read the obituaries to prey on grieving spouses. How low and despicable can a human get? It's a different world. Sorry for your situation. Life is hard enough without being targeted by these low-lifes.

The world is a sad place these days. Police say that it is not worth their time to investigate these "petty" crimes. In Chicago, the mayor's view is that he won't demonize 13 year olds for stealing cars at gunpoint. If criminals are not prosecuted it will just continue.

Bre, remember for every scammer that wants to rip you off you have 50,000 people who love you and what you do. That is a pretty awesome accomplishment. Scammers are trying to run the world right now. Have faith that justice will come. Don't let scammers steal your joy in what you do.

My elderly parents have been scammed twice while in their 80's and I tell you I understand exactly what you are saying. These people are cowards, they will not meet you face to face or even talk to you. So sorry Chickanic

Bri, as a cyber professional, trust me, there are plenty of actions that could be taken. FB, YT, and others just don’t want to take those actions. Taking action would cost them money. They make money on scammers and legitimate sites alike. These companies trade short term gains for larger long term profits. They are very shortsighted.
I know you’ve invested a lot with your platform on YT, but perhaps taking it to Rumble is worth the effort. Honestly, I’d think they would love to have more content like yours on their platform.

Work in retail for a home improvement store. It is sad. Scammers will take our logo. Give out fake order numbers take the money and run.
On occasion, people will call and ask “is this too good to be true item that I saw on Facebook marketplace, is it in stock? ”
“I’m sorry we do not sell on Facebook marketplace, it’s possibly a scam.”

My old timer Dad got suckered into paying via Apple Gift Cards and he was referred by a guy he considers a 'Friend'. My Dad is determined to keep paying his scammer or else lose out in some benefit I could not fathom. Be Forewarned. Thanks, Chickanic for the opportunity to help others too. 🎉

It's sad that with all the resources that these social media platforms have to use to their advantage, that they fail to use even a fraction of those efforts toward keeping their users safe and free of these scammers!!!! All these "platforms" care about is that THEY get their money (at anybodies expense)!!!
