It's been less than a year since Grace Inspace first perked up our ears with her kaleidoscopic debut single “Lost Girl.” Born in LA and bred in London, she's independently released an impressive string of singles since then leading up to her new EP, “Sunshine Kid,” while working with collaborators including Luna Li, Hope Tala, Last Shadow Puppets' Zach Dawes, Arctic Monkeys' Matt Helders, and producer John King.
For her "Neighborhoods" session, she performs two tracks from the EP in her backyard in Altadena, CA, where she reminds us "NASA has a base and people ride their horses to the grocery store!"
"I chose these two songs because they best represent the scope of my debut EP and the duality of my experience making music," she explained. "'25' is a tongue-in-cheek confessional song about navigating the music industry and all its inequalities, and 'Redwood Curtain' I wrote and produced alone living in an isolated cabin in the middle of the Redwood Forest, an ode to the lessons and magic to be found in loneliness.”
"Sunshine Kid" is out now:
