There's just something special about this game that has kept me playing thru 7 runs and almost 800 hours so far. This is what I imagined back in the 90's playing the Tabletop version, and just hopping on a bike and roaring out into the bad lands to watch the stars can fill hours of my time. As much as I'll always revere Gary Gygax for the wonder of D&D, Mike Pondsmith created something that grabbed me immediately and has led me to the Cyberpunk novels of Gibson/ Stevenson/ and many others over the decades. This game has so much knowledge secreted away if you pay attention, so many threads to follow, it never gets old. I can't wait to see what the new Orion game has in store, and even if V isn't a part of it, I will be more than happy to create a new character and explore the next chapter they create. Awesome video about the history of Night City, and the shady deals that went on back then.

Mr.BlueEyes is AI or AI Agent softening the ground work for the upcoming crumbling of the Blackwall, whether his AI faction is Good or Evil remains to be seen.
This along the Lilith Cyberpsycho situation, highly supersticious gang like the Voodo boys desperate trying to get a pass and AI protection, Songbird hellish blackwall abilities and the author of the franchise Mike Pondsmith himself narrating "conspiracy" theories on Morro radio about what Bartmoss encountered in the net back in the days of the Datakrash, its setting a nice theme of whats going to happen in the next Cyberpunk title.
Bartmoss discovered hell and opened its doors... Prepare for the coming of the daemons.

For me it's the option I like the most. That Mr Blue Eyes is controlled by Rogue AIs beyond the Blackwall. Night Corp tried to do it in their project, but actual rogue AIs breached the Blackwall and are now controlling Night Corp, or at least very influtential people inside and outside of Night Corp...maybe even other corporations too. But I would like to see a corporation, maybe Arasaka, given its resources, to be aware of this rogue AI plan, maybe even connecting to Yorinobu and the dramatic events of the game...the possibilities are just endless in such a fascinating concept!

See, there's one very interesting link that I don't really see explored anywhere. Namely, the eyes. It's the same eyes that the dolls have when they are controlled by the personality chip implanted in them. That practically tells you that Mr. Blue-Eyes and his kind are likely just hosts for someone or something else. It could be that they're being used by a local program - and considering what complex interaction the doll chips allow for, there's zero doubt that significantly more can be achieved. Or it could be that they're controlled remotely. Just like Hanako remote-controlled that doll when talking to V in the main storyline.
But does this give us anything? Why yes, I think it really does. While you rightly point out that Richard Night wasn't soul-killed, there's no guarantee that another technology wasn't used - like mapping out his brain, for instance, or recreating his personality in the digital realm by various means. It wouldn't work as well as Soulkiller, but it could work well enough.
And that's before you even consider that he didn't actually die in '98. His killer was never caught, but that's not the main thing. His life was constantly threatened and it was a matter of time until someone actually succeeded. You can't kill what's already dead, so his "death" took care of the threat. The wife took over and followed in his footsteps, which sounds mighty convenient, to have someone who intimately knows their partner's business strategies, etc. I think we can safely say that it's well within the realm of probability that he just staged his own death and led from the shadows ever since.
And it's a much smarter move than what Saburo ever did. Saburo was out in the open, a clear, visible, tangible target. The "already dead" Richard Night can't even be a target at this point for his enemies. And since Saburo survived much longer than Richard Night, living well over 100 years for someone with that kind of money and influence.
It's even likely that he's still around in 2077 and that he's using people with the doll implant or a similar technology. He can probably even switch between multiple hosts on the fly since the personality chip can take over when needed. And what better way is there for someone like Richard to keep an eye on things and keep them on-track from the shadows?
It could also be AIs, from beyond the Blackwall or not.
