The ADL are the kind of people that see Hitler in their morning cornflakes, they literally investigated a company that makes Teapots because someone thought one of their Teapots looked like Hitler (spoiler alert: it was just a Teapot)

The ADL lost me a long time ago. I certainly wanted to trust the things they said, it would make life a great deal easier, but some of the things they were inclined to refer to as antisemitic in my own country were demonstrably, and very easily proven not to be. More importantly, it was logically impossible for them to make the claims they made in good faith, they were too broad, too generalised, and too unconditional, they left no room for intention or the nature of language and interior construction.
Over time it has become increasingly obvious they aren't seriously engaged in the project they claim to be. Some of their behaviour, if anything has made antisemitism more likely by continuing to elide the state of Israel with Jewishness, and to delegitimate the language used to describe that form of hate.
There is a real problem with antisemitism, just as there is a real problem with islamophobia and other forms of hate. But it can only be understood by reference to good faith analysis, not a political weaponisation of the language.
