Learn how two British school friends turned into cold-blooded killers. Subscribe to Our Life: bit.ly/3dBMxvl

Serial killers are the dark stars of modern culture, but is it nature or nurture that creates a serial killer? Born To Kill takes an in-depth look at the cases of some of the most notorious murderers that have shocked the world.

In the mid 80s, two British school chums - the short and introverted John Francis Duffy and the taller outgoing David Mulcahy - maintained their friendship and continued their shared interest in martial arts and serial rape into adulthood. Psychological Offender Profiling helps bring in one, while DNA testing eventually pulls in the other. Neither's individual interest in rape may have led to murder, but working together was another story, and the railway line became their hunting ground.

I have to commend my mum because when I was young and she told me why she was giving me instructions about not taking short cuts and because she explained it properly I always listened. I have taken her warnings in to my adult life thanks for helping to keep me safe mum!

Big shout out to those victims coming forward. Their bravery has made it easier for people to come forward today.

I was an American living in London in 1985. Like NYC of the 70's, it was a very different city in those years.

Mulcahy was just going about life as normal, working, roller skating, chillin', etc KNOWING that at ANY MOMENT Duffy could say something?? He must have a profound ability to compartmentalise his worries and anxiety!

I don’t think what she said was right Duffy didn’t bring closure to the families, more like he was very angry and hurt that his best friend got away with it while he was caught their friendship was toxic at best.

It's a great series! That psychologist woman can't be serious, she actually believes Duffy turned his mate in to give closure to the families of the victims? He turned him in because he couldn't stand his buddy being out and enjoying life while he was banged up. A three year old could understand that!

You have to love these ‘experts’ who can tell you all about the culprits after the event, one look at a past crime and I could spout like an expert ffs 😂

Arguably the most disturbing case in this series considering there's really nothing that satisfactorily 'explains' these two.

I’m so sad and ashamed when anyone is murdered in my country, let alone some one from another country. I do remember the case of Marty Tambosa.

I believe these two also took shots at passers-by from a window with an air rifle when they were adolescents. The martial arts thing is also interesting. There's a sad irony that Mulcahay first became friendly with Duffy because he felt sorry for him.
