Nothing really changes: "Now we're getting out of Vietnam...through Laos and Cambodia." 40 years later let's just substitute the joke with: "Now we're getting out of Afghanistan...through Iraq and Syria."

I'm a boomer, and was a big fan of Ali and Carlin. But I've never heard his take on Ali's battle before. Just brilliant.

One of the smartest comedians that has ever stepped on the stage. And he wouldn't have been able to get away with that routine 5 years earlier. But by then, the entire country saw Vietnam for what it was.

The only bad thing I can think of about George Carlin is that he isn't around to give us new material. Genuine comic genius.

Class act. Ali too: at least Ali was honest; he never claimed he had 'bone-spurs'. Whatever the hell they are.

I remember seeing this on television so many years ago and Carlin's groundbreaking brilliance still shines. I had the pleasure seeing Carlin perform five times over his career and without a doubt is one of the most brilliant comics that ever lived.

Miss him, he'd have tons to talk about for 2018 if he was still here.

I’m not nearly as upset with Ali for refusing induction into the draft as I am with the rich white dudes who had their sons taken out of the draft by paying off their local congressman
