Hey Stich. Was thinking just now how cool it is that you don’t teach licks. You teach people how to create licks. And to create licks you have to understand licks. Bravo for teaching guitarists how to think. About music. 😐

You pushed me to turn on the amp, hook up the looper, play that cool Am progression and layer it with bits and pieces and solo over it for an hour. You inspire me regularly--as well elucidate. Stay Well Groovy One! (I may have to try the major progression later).

Great tips Stich. Something worth noting is that the form 4 sets you up for the BB Box as well.

I think this is the very first time that I've heard a guitar teacher describe his thinking while reaching for the next note in the context of the character of the note and its role during a phrase. Incidentally, I too discovered the 1, 5, 2 minor pentatonic patterns as well integrated for "comfort" through practice and here it is all laid out.

As an intermediate player who is working on becoming better soloing and making my own music these lessons relating to the CAGED system and melodic soloing are extremely helpful and well done. Thank you. You are among the top tier of guitar teachers on youtube.

I'm about 3 weeks into really watching your videos, Stich and I have learned more in these 3 weeks towards understanding what I play than I have at any period in about 45 years from when I first learned the pentatonic forms across the neck. It's like in every video you take apart what I know to play and help me to really understand WHY somethings work and some not so much. For example in this vid I learned that "hidden" with form 4 is the barred C-shaped major chord. Hell, before I watched your vids I never ever thought about playing a C-shaped barre chord. And btw, "playing to the chord" is a resonating theme for me now. Immensely grateful, my friend. - Jstn Green, lead guitarist for Just An Expression.
