This song as well as the original from Avril show perfectly the problems of society in their years. Avril made clear that appearance isn't everything, Ashnikko points out it's about self love and to leave a toxic partner, which (I think) is a huge problem for young girls thinking they are nothing without their boyfriend

I love this song and I love the original too. Avril's version was about a girl who let societal expectations keep her from pursuing the person she wanted, and this song is about a woman who won't let any societal expectations force her into a relationship when she knows she deserves better. I think underneath both songs are saying that you have to go after what you want and be who you want to be no matter what society says you "ought" to be.
