I love how Stu describes his metalhead years as "It was the first time that I said I LOVE music". I believe that metal is the most important milestone for many people who have more than an average interest in music, like Stu. Thanks to metal, I've discovered so many more amazing genres and became an amateur musician myself. I'm still a metalhead, but like Stu, many people that I knew from my metalhead circle also got into different genres and are now important jazz/blues musicians, producers, DJs, sound engineers etc. And they all owe this to their metal years, because they picked a real instrument after air guitaring or drumming to their favorite metal songs. I'm sad that metal is looked down upon by many, and it's nice to see bands like King Gizz are paying their respects.
