Mean Girls. College Girls. Music Girls. Reneé Rapp is part of all these groups. The actress/artist from North Carolina says that as a kid she loved it when her mom played funk in the kitchen and pop during the car rides. During her teen years, her creative itched was scratched by writing her own songs. It wasn't long before the 22-year-old's art was credible enough to be taken seriously. Of course she was working on her stage chops along the way, joining the high school theater troupe, signing up for local musicals, and learning all about the craft of presenting yourself to the public. Boom, boom, boom. Every step begot another level up, and by 2019 she was heading for the role of Regina George in the Broadway version of 'Mean Girls.' Covid killed her run on the Great White Way, but the forward motion was unstoppable and soon she was shooting HBO Max's 'The Sex Lives of College Girls.' But pop and it's power to summarize and enlighten was her first interest always. You can tell from her string of jewels that began last year. From "Tattoos" to "In The Kitchen" to "Too Well" to "Bruises," her songs are clever, insightful and rather addictive.
