I remember my expectation of the album being pretty low mainly cause of Damon & the critics plus I knew Food Records had a large say in what songs went into the album . Ended up really enjoying it. Same with "Great Escape" it's not their best work by any means but man it's still a solid debut album.
The lyrics can be pretty weak & clichéd but the melodies are strong. "Bad Day" "Fool' "Repetition" & fan favourite "Sing" are good tracks any one of them could of been a release.
The 3 released tracks are pretty good as well "She's so high" is a great debut single. "There's no other way" was quite a good attempt at the Madchester scene & is pretty catchy. "Bang" is pretty decent but definitely the weaker out of the three released singles.
This & many other albums have taught me to never listen to the critics always judge for yourself. Even if some of the band members diss it you might still enjoy the record.

how can Damon hate this album that much? some his best melodies are on this album. and the band graham alex and dave sound amazing. like they sound like a 90's version of the who and early beatles.
only thing is the lyrics are mostly meaningless and cliche?and they hated their manager! but they sound great!

Always and forever, thank you to Great Britain and the British people whose creativity, since the 1960s, has given the rest of the World hundreds of unique bands such as the Blur and music of unparalleled beauty, quirkiness and atmosphere. What would our lives have been without British bands? Thank you from Sicily.
