If these Latinoā€™s, Hispanics didnā€™t know they had Spanish blood there is something very wrong with their upbringing and knowledge of history. They are speaking Spanish, Dah. Latino, Latin, and who was Latin in Europe? Yeah, I know.

Where did you find these Latinos? If you don't know that we are so mixed and have Spanish blood as well, something is wrong with you. LOL

There's also a SHOCKING amount of Latinos who have Asian ancestry. Especially if you're from Peru or Mexico.

These Hispanics have been actively trying to "better their race", I'm genuinely confused at how shocked they are that they have European ancestry when they are in Europe. It'll be like me being shocked that I'm 100% African when I have dark skin and was born and raised in Africa šŸ¤·šŸæā€ā™€ļø

Well, they donā€™t need the DNA test, just take a look at the family names.

I'm 6th generation Spanish American. My family is from Iberian peninsula in Spain and my birth certificate states that I am white. I was told that because my ancestry is mostly European that I was considered white. I don't know if that is correct, could be wrong, not sure.

Ā«Ā HispanicĀ Ā» is a term that relates to Spain. Why should they be surprise to have genetic links to Spain ? Ā«Ā LatinĀ Ā» is broader term witch relates to the south-western European nations that derive their culture and language from Romeā€¦. From latium, where people spoke latin and were called the latins. So, Ā«Ā latinĀ Ā» refer to a group of European cultures. If themself claim the concept of latinity, why are they surprised to realize that they are connected to those latin European countries ??

Just like the Askenaziā€¦Iā€™m Jewish and after the Romans destroyed the second temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and the Jewish people fledā€¦many scattered throughout Europeā€¦a good number throughout Europe and the persecutions ended up hiding in šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡øā€¦ so the fact that there are those with Ashkenazi heritage amongst Latino people isnā€™t surprisingā€¦and yes, the Moors of Spain and those brought as slaves from sub-Saharan Africa constitute a good portion of the African šŸ§¬ genome of the people being tested. The European sources would mostly be Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greeceā€¦and of course the First Nations people of Caribbean and Central and South Americaā€¦although when the first Iberian Settlers arrived, they almost extirpated the whole native population ā€¦as a medical professional and someone who took lots of classes in geneticsā€¦the difference is one or two ancestors several generations ago to make a 10% to 15% differenceā€¦

No shit, it's called "miscegenation." (mestizaje) One thing that Queen Isabel I la Catolica of Spain did differently in the Spanish-speaking colonies of the American continent compared to what was done in North America. She ordered unions between Europeans and Native Americans because she thought they were all children of God.

Iā€™m Italian American and I canā€™t tell you how many people I run into both here and in Europe that say theyā€™re full Latino but have Italian last names and donā€™t realize they have Italian blood in them.

Itā€™s so nice to have a reaction where someone knows about the basic history. Also, it is definitely looked down on to be seen as being more ā€œnativeā€ vs Spanish in South America. My in-laws are from Peru and my MIL did the 23&Me and had her life shook. Itā€™s due to the caste system that the Spanish implemented and still exists in some forms in many of those countries.
