This has become, over so many years now, my favorite Christmas album. I even play it in the fall. I congratulate Kenny for taking a risk, perhaps, by compiling an album that is a little distant from the usual holly jolly songs. There is, at least to my ears and heart, a melancholy quality to these songs, both the covers of classics and the new songs, of which Kenny was the co-writer. More than ever, that melancholy spirit speaks to me. And if there is one song among the bunch that walks that line of hope and sadness is the closer, "December." Wow! For most of us, I suspect, especially as we get older, Christmas time has an increased sense of loss. But this song, and this album, is not all about sadness, for sure. There is hope. Anyway, thank you, Kenny, for creating a sonic creation that, for me, recognizes the tug between happy memories and something missing.

This also is one of my most favorite Christmas albums. In 2001, I took care of my nieces and nephews while my sister was ill. The some Some Children See Him was an important lesson of perception in what we all believe. We all experience life and others in our own unique way.

I was fortunate to be in a band that opened for Kenny. He is such a great performer, writer and good person. I met him several times and he has always been the consistent, wonderful person that he is.
