Dr Rupert Sheldrake, PhD, is a biologist and author best known for his hypothesis of morphic resonance. At Cambridge University he worked in developmental biology as a Fellow of Clare College. He was Principal Plant Physiologist at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics and From 2005 to 2010 was Director of the Perrott-Warrick project, Cambridge.

A few years ago I had a period of daily sungazing and each day I could see it rise I'd say hello and if I was lucky enough to see a sunset I would thank it and say how great I thought it was.
This went on for months and one day after about fifteen minutes of watching the sun set, I was thinking the usual things - wow, you're amazing, I love you, all that jazz, and suddenly I had a very direct message from the sun - "there's trillions of us, and only a few billion of you, I'm not so special and you should focus those specific feelings towards yourself and your family and loved ones"
It was quite startling.
After I thought about it I couldn't argue with the logic.
I absolutely have no doubt that consciousness pervades everything.

Thank you Mr Sheldrake for your courage. Your speeches are so beautiful and always offer alternatives to the world and the most important, an invitation to think by ourselves. I study Kabbalah, and in the Zohar this consciousness you are talking about is mentioned. So once, one morning after a lot of heavy rain, I did the experiment of connecting to the rising sun and ask it to warm the walls of my house so the humidity could disappear, and I felt it understood and helped. It is very difficult to explain but the best one can do is to try to connect and have the experience. The real problem is that we do not try any different thing because we have interiorised the common social judgment and we are not able to think by ourselves and avoid this social judgment that says we are stupid if we try anything different. If humanity could get rid of this rigidity we would be so happy and wouldn't need so much money! Thank you very much for your commitment and interesting work

I didn't believe in the Sun being conscious, but after staring right at the sun for about 45 minutes without even blinking i can clearly feel it actually is conscious...

One day my son asked me what our soul is. Like a knee-jerk reaction without really thinking about it, this is what came out of my mouth. Your soul is a star. All Stars are conscious. All these star Souls take turns incarnating into a form of life. It could a humanoid or animal. I honestly don't know why I said that! I guess it must be a deep knowing in my soul.
