It's good that you're talking about it Karl. I used to get these calls 2-3 times a week here in the UK, now hardly any, although yesterday I got one. I know there's a scammer coming when the phone rings because they come in on the landline which I never use. It's a requirement for my broadband. I just have a moment or two of fun with them or I ask, Are you scammers still around?" and they hang up pretty quickly. I read an article about Indian call centres and their scams. It's big business that's for sure.

It's so funny what you did! but the rest of your point is an important one-- Indians are getting a reputation for being scammers in English speaking countries and the government should crack down on it (even if the scammers are bribing locals to ignore their operations....)
