Fans of Disney darlings, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens are in for shocks and surprises as the ladies play against type in SPRING BREAKERS. Along with Rachel Korine and Ashley Benson they turn up the heat in this tale of girls gone more than wild. The girls fund their trip to Florida by robbing a local fast food restaurant, establishing that good girls go to heaven and bad girls go to "Spring Break".
Cult filmmaker, Harmony Korine's trademark symbolic and metaphorical style is in full swing as both writer and director of the film, with truly surreal moments peppered throughout this tale of mischief and misadventure. When the girls land themselves in gaol, local thug, drug and arms dealer Alien (James Franco in a standout performance) bails the girls out, taking them under his wing and into his garish, palatial home complete with guns on the wall, money on his bed and a grand piano by the pool. Together they embark on a wild ride on the wild side - and the type of education they were never going to get in college.
