Were is the old road

Good job, buddy.
The temporary Bailey bridge puzzles me greatly at this stage. Everywhere else they've built (or are building) a new bridge close to the old road. They don't normally do anything about that part of the trackbed until the road's been moved over. But here...?!! Who knows?!! There's obviously a good reason for what they're doing, but I'm blowed if I can figure it out at the moment.
