The part at 2:36 is a reference to Narcissus. When Narcissus looked at the water and saw his own face he fell in love with himself. Narcissus then realizes he canât materialize his reflection and ends up committing suicide. Here Matty sees a digital screen and canât resist its beauty. It is with reference to the superficiality of modern technology and how we canât gain anything material or meaningful from it and it can lead to depression and suicide.
