This song is such a departure from Snail Mail's previous sound in the best way possible. Their sound has matured, as I am sure she has significantly since the last release. I am really loving the deeper and darker vibes on this record. Something I can relate to a little more nowadays.

That line hits hard. I've never been in rehab but I think anyone who's ever tried something that they've struggled with and failed, then finally give it their absolute all just to fail again - can relate.

Ben Franklin is the Snail Mail O.G. He was the 1st Postmaster General. Back then mail delivery was super slow and inconsistent. To improve it he invented a horse-and-buggy with a special wheel that clicked every mile or so. They he hopped in and embarked on an epic journey over 1,500 miles to log the distances between post offices on the east coast. He also launched night-time transit of letters. He set the stage for 1-3 day letter delivery all over the USA. Recently delivery of letters and postcards has slowed and become inconstant again; yes in part because of the pandemic but mostly because of political meddling and a desire to make the USPS private and turn a profit. We need another Ben Franklin to turn this ship around.
