I lost my wife after almost 20 years, so I hear this song differently than i might than a kid would. After being together for so long, having half your heart rilped out can leave you feeling only half alive.

This song is beautiful. The little laugh at the beginning reminds me of that initial surprised joy of finding someone you love, loves you. The part about children made me bawl, cause what a thought--that the face of your children with the person you love is what you don't want to lose. The future you have with that person. Beautiful

Thank you so much for this song. I hadn’t heard it before. I was on my way to take my dad off life support and this song came on the radio as I pulled into the hospital parking lot. It’s indescribable how relevant this song is to me and my dad.. how much he missed his kids and grandkids on a daily basis.. This helped reassure me what I already knew.. that he was ready to go and that he couldn’t spend anymore time missing the people he loved. The doctor also mentioned that if we kept him on life support he may survive but he may just stair at the ceiling and not be able to communicate, his worst nightmare.
This song was a miracle for me. Thank you so much!
