‘I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the mountain. One always finds one's burden again. But Sisyphus teaches the higher fidelity that negates the gods and raises rocks. He too concludes that all is well. This universe henceforth without a master seems to him neither sterile nor futile. Each atom of that stone, each mineral flake of that night-filled mountain, in itself, forms a world. The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.’ - Camus

I've always known this unconsciously...that I will be responsible to write my own story. Yet for the longest time I blamed others ( absent father, naive mother) and have drifted aimlessly in life; only to start truly carrying my own cross (so to speak) in the past year or so.
It is a great burden, and frankly I find myself in fear of what's to come. It is true that it takes much courage to keep on when there is no present mythos to live by in our modern day life...yet the prospect of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, the treasure after the dragon, or reading a great fiction which enacts our all too human experience allows me hope- that I have meaning in my life, that beauty is at my reach, that everything has its worth.
Good luck and God (mythos version ;) bless

8:56 I think this is similiar to what Camus was saying. The act of accepting the crushing indifference of the universe and flourishing despite the presence of ultimate futile absurdity is another way to create a hero in oneself.
